I had my hairs on underarms & lower legs removed via Electrolysisin 1998-1999. However I decided to have the remaining (around 25% Ithink) underarm hairs removed via Laser (Nd: YAG), but my whole legsvia electrolysis. As in 2017, I'm having around 4-6 visible darkhairs on lower legs, especially knees. But I have around 15-18visible hairs on my underarms. So my conclusion, based on myexperience, is that Laser & IPL hair removal aren't the permanentsolutions for hair removal. They only RETARD hair growth. Many ofthose hairs will eventually grow back some years later after aprolonged dormancy, but such hairs will be lighter and may be finer.

Laser/IPL vs. Electrolysis

Laser & IPL can effectively retard growth of only dark hairs on fair skin for permanent hair reduction. Regular sessions every 4-6 weeks are required at initial stage & over 6 sessions may be required to treat the hair in the same body area. U can check whether the operators had undertreated you or not by checking that your hair should grow back finer and less after each time u get treated, if not they have undertreated you so u spend more unnecessary money for them. Solution: Change to the business that is sincere and honesty. Laser/IPL isn't effective for blond, red, grey and white hair.Laser & IPL hair removal aren't the permanent solutions for hair removal. They only RETARD hair growth. Cells that contain melanin such as hairs & some other cells are destroyed, but hair follicles & hair stem cells that lack melanin remain intact. Thus some hairs will eventually grow back some years later after a prolonged dormancy, but such hairs will be lighter and finer (of course cells containing melanin have been destroyed).Remember! IPL & Laser can't work that effectively on finer & lighter hairs.Electrolysis is effective for all hair and skin colours for permanent hair removal. Hair can grow back from the follicles that have been treated, but it should be finer and finer each time until all hair stem cells within such follicle & the whole follicle are destroyed that is when such hair won't grow back & is permanently removed. Also not all hairs are coming out when u r being treated. So numbers of area clearances r required.So, Electrolysis is the only PERMANENT hair removal method.FACT: Hair still can grow back throughout your life even years after a successful hair removal.
